A message from our owner, Jeff Shmanske: About Detroit's Best:
The business was started out of necessity when I grew tired of the poor workmanship I was paying to receive at local shops. Back then Mopar was the odd ball and even in the Detroit metro area, I could not find a shop worthy of working on my 65 Satellite or 68 Roadrunner. What I found were shops that "do it all". Meaning they had limited experience and expertise with Mopars and some of them didn't even like working on them! I guess I don't blame them for trying to appeal to the masses. If you look around at your average "mixed brand" car show today, the Mopar crowd is usually outnumbered pretty badly. Still, I wasn't about to pay anyone to work on my Mopars when they viewed my vehicles as the competition. Our shop is different than most. We specialize in Mopars and all other engine work is our "minor" so to speak. About Me: I have always been a Mopar muscle car guy. My first car was a 1965 Plymouth Satellite with a high compression 383 engine that had me addicted to Mopar power from the first moment I stuck the pedal to the floor!!!
Mopar that rolled through the doors.
Mopar Performance / Chrysler contracted shop named Arrow Racing Engines in Rochester Hills, Michigan. I spent a little over four years there as the lead dynamometer operator and engine tuner building and tuning nothing but Mopar engines including hemis, "A" engines and Vipers. I moved on when "Daimler Chrysler" started downsizing.
power certification for the 426 crate line of engines. I completed all of the fuel distribution testing for the current Mopar dual plane hemi intake and many of the "M1" line of Mopar intake manifolds. I have built and tested more Mopar engines than I can put a number on, including Hemi's, Big Blocks, A engines, and Viper V-10's.
it to exceed your expectations.
